To Visit the Chapel of St. Sebastian in Alvito

The Chapel of St. Sebastian in Alvito was built in the early sixteenth century, presents an architecture framed in Gothic-Mudejar, characteristic of Gothic style in the Alentejo. It is located on the edge of town since it was built in perspective and the belief that thus protect, by the action of the patron Saint Sebastian, the plague.

This chapel had a mural of the principle of the XVII century, this painting, which covered the entire interior. What now remains, demonstrates how to paint a fresco of this region, using the theme of angels musicians.
