Visit the Fort of Peniche - San Pedro (Peniche)

The Peniche Fort, located in the Parish of San Pedro (Peniche), it is still an imposing military structure that deserves a visit. There is a museum (since 1984) that illustrates the history of Peniche (with archaeological and local crafts, for example) and that evokes the anti-fascist resistance, recalling that he served as a strong political prison during the regime of the Estado Novo.
The famous trail Peniche was one of the most spectacular in the history of Portuguese fascism, because it is one of the highest security prisons in the New State.
